How to switch tabs in browsers using a keyboard shortcut.

This shortcut shows you how to switch tabs in browsers without using a mouse. I find this shortcut especially useful when I’m working on my laptop without my wireless mouse around.

This keyboard shortcut work on all internet browsers such as Microsoft Edge, Chrome and Firefox.

  1. Press and hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard

    Ctrl_Key

  2. Press the Tab key (No 2. on the diagram above) until you reach the browser tab you need.

  3. The shortcut to switch tabs in the opposite direction is just as easy. Simply hold down the ctrl + shift keys and then press the tab key

There are many keyboard shortcuts that you can use. Such as copy (ctrl + c), cut (ctrl + x) or paste (ctrl+p). We will be covering most of the commonly used shortcuts in the next little while. These shortcuts are really helpful if you don’t have a mouse or (like me) you don’t like using the mousepad on your laptop.

I use them regularly as I find that I can complete tasks quicker using them.
